LECTURE | TIM LAWRENCE (28 JUNHO)

Tim Lawrence

Tim Lawrence, a university professor and academic who studies the cultural movements in large cities around the world, will be at WestWay Lab 2.0 starring a Lecture at the Café Concerto of CCVF.
Tim Lawrence is the author of various books on the theme of cultural movements, including “love saves the day” which describes the emergence of those groups of artists in New York in the 1970s who would later become icons of cultural identity in the city. Tim will speak about the importance of these core groups in a context which may have escaped our notice since our vision is skewed by the present context of mass-consumption but which his research indicates as showing trends and the innovative pathways which open up when a new artistic language comes to maturity. We will thus think of the city as a living body which offers us a set of experiences which are often available only on short exploratory journeys. The Lecture starts at 11:30 p.m. and entrance is free.
